Snowboard magazines

Cooler magazine

The last time we did some reviews of snowboard magazines we got loads of responses. Some good and even some from people who did not understand what we were doing. This time we´re getting even harder in our judgements. We´ve read some of the major magazines from the US as well as Europe: Transworld, Future Snowboarding, Onboard, Method and even Cooler.

So what´s the verdict? I must say that it´s with a big surprise that Cooler is the one that stands out. Cooler is a all-girl-magazine. It´s got good articles and really good tips and reviews of gear. Even tough I don´t use lip gloss nor wear Nikita clothes the texts are really intriguing. Also Cooler focuses on skateboarding and surfing as well. So there´s no gap in the releases between april and august. On the cover of the current issue is Silvia Mittermuller – who also is featured in the Float snowboard movie.

When it comes to the traditional snowboaring magazines Future Snowboard is still our favourite. Onboard is really good and the most interesting for us since it covers the European scene. But when Transworld has the best pictures Future has the best articles. So it´s really all up to you and what you want. But the next time you are buying magazines – give Cooler a chance. I don´t think you´ll be disappointed.

Camouflage Lamborghini Gallardo

The swedish skier Jon Olsson doesn’t seem to believe in big SUV’s to get him wherever he’s skiing. Instead he owns a camouflage Lamborghini Gallardo with a matching roof box for his skis.

He says the following about his Lamborghini to Newschoolers.com

I walked in to Lamborghini in Monaco and bought it, was a little hard to get their attention when I first walked in, but when I asked if they could have it ready by lunch that changed (laughs). It now has a new paint job in winter camo and a ski box.

Burton X Kid Robot

Burton X Kid Robot

In the never ending stream of collabs the turn has come to Burton and Kid Robot. Kid Robot is now a days best known for different collabs (again) with all over prints – mostly on hoodies. Back in the days Kid Robot was probably the best place on the Internet to get your vinyls and assorted toys. Ningyoushi and Giant Robot have always been god but not as good as Kid Robot.

Anyway, now the first Kid Robot snowboard is here. The board is the classic Custom in size 158. A good but perhaps a bit boring choice. The way we see it a better choice for a Kid Robot board might be the Jussi or mayeb the Se7en. Or even Malolo.

Burton and Kid Robor also gives us some pretty crazy and really expensive jackets and pants. You´ll find all the stuff at Kid Robot and the Burton flagship stores.

Svart Kult Skateboards

“Svart Kult” is the name of a skateboard brand, the name means “Black Cult” in swedish. I’m not sure about the story behind them but the sure makes cool looking skateboards. I like the evil black and white graphics with and old school feeling.

Atmosphere outerwear 07/08

Atmosphere jacket

Atmosphere is a clothing company that focus on details as well as attitude. The line isn´t too big and they tend to keep it simple. This season they got two (2) models of jackets and pants. And the colour range is maybe a third of what Burton does with a average jacket. But maybe that´s what makes Atmosphere so interesting.

On the team you`ll find amongst others Robbie Sell, Corey Smith and Sketchy D.

Another good thing is that you can buy all the great stuff from the web shop! Go get it!
