Air & Style took off this weekend at the Munich Olympic Stadium with a crowd of 28 000 people. The Hives, 30 seconds to mars and Sean Paul performed during the event.

Tim Humprehys won the rookie challenge and Daniel Bodin won the freestyle snowmobile contest. Kevin Pearce, the 20 year old american who entered the Air & Style for the first time won it. The winning trick this year was a combination of Cab 1260 to Crail.

Mikkel Bang, 17 years old from Norway, who won the rookie contest last year and by that qualified to the main event this year came in second. Torstein Horgmo who broke his back not long ago, did a great comeback and came in third. The local hero David Benedek came in fourth.

Legendary stunt man Evel Knievel is dead.

Knievel made it big time in the 60ies and was famous all over the world. He is often described as the american motorcycle daredevil. He was known for wearing the american flag on all occasions.

Hollywood even made a film about the man himself in the 70ies starring George Hamilton.
Robert Evel Knievel died on 30 november 2007.

Funny and nice looking ad from HEAD with the message “Jump higher”. I’d be more worried about the landing than getting struck by a jet plane if I jumped that high. The advertising agency is Advico Young & Rubicam

Something more important is that HEAD also have an alliance with the global environmental friendly charity called Cool Earth.

Cool Earth fights climate change by protecting endangered rainforest and HEAD is committed to save over 7,000 acres of rainforest each year. I think this a good gesture and more companies should do the same. Read more about “Cool Earth – Keeping carbon where it belongs” and get involved yourself.

With Burton Series 13 you can design your own board and purchase it. Now Burton and Suzuki have a design contest where you enter the contest with a snowboard design and you can win that snowboard. That’s a pretty good prize but it doesn’t stop there. The winner will also win a Suzuki Grand Vitara Freeride car in his or hers design.

To enter the contest you have to be a European citizen. Even if you’re not participating you can check out the submissions and vote for your favourite.

Series 13 Freeride Contest

When we got our hands on the Holden Outerwear catalogue it was clear: the Holden Oldster was our second favourite jacket from the 07/08 range. Our top jacket was the Paolo down jacket. Now that we have tried the Oldster we must say that it´s a close call. And that´s without even trying the Paolo – since it´s all about the looks…

The Oldster jacket is simple, clean and makes you feel like you play in a indie rock band. It has got a distinct classic feel and looks. As with all Holden gear it´s loaded with practical pockets and technical stuff.

If you remember Holden some four years ago the sizing was a bit weird. Back in the days you needed to go down one size. Now it´s more the other way around. For snowboarding you should go up one size (at least). Thou the jacket might be too fitted for snowboarding it´s excellent for cruising. We´ll probably post an update as soon as we´ve tested the oldster snowboarding. Stay tuned.

The 1st of decemeber the 2007 Air & Style contest is held in the Olympic Stadium in Munich. The 2006 Air & Style was crazy with Travis Rice taking home the victory with a Double Backflip 180 followed by a Cab 540. The event this year will hopefully be as good as the 2006. Antti Autti who came in third last year have been replaced with the high flying american Andy Finch. The reason is that Antti dislocated his shoulder and had to drop out. All of the 2007 pro riders are here below.
