Float – an all female snowboard film is here. And it’s free. Just pick up this months right snowboard magazine… You’ll find the movie in Onboard in Europe, Snowstyle in Japan. The list just goes on and on.
Unlike a lot of other movies I’ve seen this season this really makes me laugh and makes me wanna go snowboarding. A bit like Picture this and the Special Blend movie. They put the fun in snowboarding the same way that Storbis puts…something else in snowboarding.

Laura Hadar tells it like it is in the best jacket some three seasons ago.
I can’t really say what it is that makes me enjoy these so called “girl movies”. Maybe it’s the frequent giggle, the nice colour schemes (not too many black outfits) or maybe it’s just the good riding. Also you can never go wrong with riders like Laura Hadar. Anyway this movie is at least as good as the ones from misschief.

Environmental issues are more in focus than ever. Not at least regarding the floods from the last days in England and the Netherlands. As for snowboarders the problems was the focus for a issue Onboard magazine some months ago.
As we have reported earlier you can make a diferent. Buy ecological clothes and products when possible.
But there is much more you can do. Take this test from Surfers Against Sewage Initiative and you’ll get some good tips. Good luck and keep up the good work. Let’s save the planet!
Take the test

A while ago I wrote about the Heli Pro backpacks from DaKine which I think looks great. Now here’s a competition over at Onboard where you as a guy can win The Mission backpack and Mustang trigger finger gloves. As a girl you can win The Mission backpack and Electra Gloves.
To enter the competition you have to answer a pretty easy question and you’re in. Enter before november 20th.

Lakai have been giving us some of the best shoes since 1998. They have also (in my humble opinion) given us some of the worst skate shoes ever. Sure, they have always been true to the cause and produced durable and grippy shoes. But let’s face it – some of the earlier Lakais sort of defines “the fat ugly skate shoe”.
Anyway, with Eric Koston finally on the team and the Fully Flared soon to be released – it’s seems as if Lakai is more unstoppable now than ever. The collection for Holiday 2007 is really good. In the time of the year when you really just want to think about snow and snowboard boots these puppies really makes you appreciate the late winter.
Girl Skateboards family member The Quiet Life have been given the mission to redesign some models. Our favourite is still the Howard Select – now in some more mellow colours.

686 has this really cool looking line och snow wear called the ACC Article. Both the jacket and pants is 10,000mm waterproof – 8,000gm breathable. The style of the pants below is called “Jungle Plaid Tweed” and the jacket is called “Chocolate Plaid Tweed”, both styles looks great and the plaid tweed makes them look vintage in a “Band of Brothers” kind of way. The pants costs about $170 and the jacket about $220.
Special features of the jacket:
– Ring snap details
– Woven webbing accent
– 80gm polyfill insulation
Special features of the pants:

As the winter comes closer…. You know it’s not all about the outerwear – you also need some good kicks. And if you’re not gonna go for the mature look with some classic Wallabees or Red Wing boots we suggest that you try Mikey LeBlancs sneaker of choice: DVS Monument snow edition.
All the shoes in DVSW snow series are supposed to be water resistant. They have taped seams and tons of other features as for example waxed laces. LeBlancs signature for 07/08 is even a bit more fresh than last years Adage. Just as last year MFM has choosen the Militia shoe. In case you want to go for the street look.
