Terje is a smartfish

Terje loves smartfish

Apparently the man who used to have a lot to say about everything -Terje Håkonsen – has sold out. Smartfish is a sort of healthy juice with omega 3 ( and therefore made out of…fish). The commercial is quite fun, but it still makes us feel kind of bad for old Terje. Sure the drink is probably far better for you than your average coke, Red Bull or whatever. But still… The drink is also avaivable in a version co-branded with Disney, if Terje isn`t enough to target the kids out there…

Smartfish website and the commercial is avaivable in a subtitled version here.

Burton goes sk8 – buys Alien Workshop & Habitat

Burton continues the effort to take a position within the skateboard industry. They signed some heavy names to Analog last year. Now they have bought DNA Distribution (with brands as Alien Workshop, Habitat and Reflex). I guess that makes Jason Dill less of a punk?

Burton buys Habitat

Burton already owns Al Merricks Channel Islands Surfboards. Maybe it´s all a sign of the times. With global warming Burton sees no future in snowboarding. Or maybe Burton just keeps on buying companys as a result of too much cash (it´s never good to have too much money in the bank – just take a look at what sort of buisness are done lately by Google and Microsoft).

We at KiNK doesn´t like the look of this. It was bad enough when Burton bought the Foursquare/Forum-family.

Review: Flux Super Titan bindings

Flux Super Titan

When talking about snowboard bindings this year it has been a lot about Flux vs Union. And of course Burton as every year. Flux has gotten a good reputation over the last years. Flux has a very good cap strap and an over all fit that doesn´t make your feet go numb. I must say that these are the best bindings I´ve tried so far. The flex is quite moderate. But at the same time you can rely on them while riding steep and/or pow pow.

All in all I really like the Super Titan. And they go very well together with my Gnu Rider´s Choice.

Lib Tech 08/09 – it`s all about bananas!

Lib tech Mullet 08/09

Are you thinking about buying a new board? I´ve had the same thought. But hold your horses! For the 08/09 season Lib Tech will give us more bananatech and more magnetraction (even the Roxy boards will get the full treatment!!). So our tip is to hold on to your wallet until next season.

As mentioned before we here at KiNK really loves the magnetraction. And apparently the Mullet will get the banana-work over.

The Mullet is the number one choice when it comes to mellow stiff yet pow pow-friendly boards. From what we´ve heard the board has a good feel also in the more modest slopes. So it´s sounds like a really good choice for a allround board.
